Professional Information

Alisyn is a lecturer in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Auckland. Her research focusses on the scale-up of polymeric nanomaterials. Scale-up encompasses the integration of fundamental thermodynamic and kinetic theory into the design and control of manufacturing processes. Many technologies, like plastic solar cells, show remarkable performance in a laboratory setting, but have not been successfully translated to larger scale production. Developing the general field of nanomaterials scale-up is an essential step towards commercializing the next generation of materials for alternative energy, medicine, electronics, and construction.
